National Taiwan College of Performing Arts has air conditioners in dormitories, classrooms, and piano rooms. However, air conditioners consume a lot of electricity. If the use is not restricted, it will cause abuse of electricity.

In response to air-conditioning management issues, the school adopts an IC card billing system.

Card readers are installed in classrooms, piano rooms and dormitories. When students use air-conditioning, they must insert a value-added IC card to use the air-conditioning.

User pays mechanism. When the card balance is exhausted, the air conditioner will be turn off immediately, which can encourage students to actively save electricity.
